Brian oversees the finance, compliance, HR & IT functions at Clarion.

Brian joined Clarion in 2021 as CFO & CCO, prior to which he was Director of Finance at ORIX Capital Partners, a middle-market private equity firm focused on investments in industrial services, business services, and manufacturing. There he oversaw finance and investor relations. Previously, he served as the CFO at Dubin & Co., a private investment company/single family office that actively managed a diversified portfolio of operating businesses and other investments, in addition to the financial and personal activities of a prominent Forbes 400 family. Before that, he served as the Controller/Head of Finance at Thrive Capital, an internet, media and technology venture capital firm with sample investments including Oscar Health, Instagram, Warby Parker, Harry’s, and Twitch, just to name a few. He also served as the Controller at Aquiline Capital Partners, a private equity firm investing globally in financial services enterprises in industries such as banking and credit, insurance, investment management and markets, and financial technology. Brian began his career in public accounting at Deloitte’s Harare, Zimbabwe office in 1999 before moving to its New York branch in 2004, where he was an Audit Manager focused on the private equity industry. Brian received both his bachelor’s and honor’s degrees in Accounting from the University of South Africa. He is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, a Certified Public Accountant (licensed in New York and Colorado) and a Chartered Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe.

In his community, Brian is a Deacon and part of the leadership team at Christ Church USA, a 10,000+ member non-denominational, multicultural church with 3 campuses in New Jersey. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, traveling, hosting summer BBQs and being an early technology adopter.
