Tom Goundrey and David Ragins Join Clarion Capital Partners as Principals

Clarion Capital Partners, LLC, is pleased to announce that it has hired Tom Goundrey and David Ragins as Principals of the firm. Clarion is a New York-based private equity firm focused on middle-market, growth businesses with over $250 million in funds under management.

Marc Utay and Eric Kogan, two of the Partners at Clarion said, “Building a first tier investment firm requires attracting first tier talent. We are delighted that David and Tom have joined the firm.”

Tom was previously a Principal with Rhone Capital LLC, a New York and London-based private equity firm and Primus International Inc., a leading manufacturer of components and assemblies for the aerospace industry, where he was the chief financial officer. He began his career at Morgan Stanley Capital Partners. Tom graduated from Harvard Business School with an MBA and from Georgetown University with a BS in Accounting and Finance.

David was previously a Principal at Seaport Capital Partners, LLC, a middle market private equity firm in New York. Prior to Seaport David worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Merrill Lynch & Co. and began his career in the Leveraged Finance Group at Banc of America Securities (formerly NationsBanc Capital Markets, Inc.). David graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with an MBA and from Babson College with a BS in Finance.

To date, Clarion has invested in four portfolio companies: U.S. Nursing Corporation, one of the largest privately held providers of travel nurse staffing; The Oceanaire, Inc., an owner and operator of distinctive ultra-fresh seafood restaurants; Great Northwest Insurance Company, a rapidly growing personal lines insurance business; and Strategic Outsourcing, Inc., one of the largest privately held professional employer organizations offering outsourced human resources to small and medium sized businesses.
