PitchBook Names Clarion Capital Partners a Top Buyout Private Equity Firm

New York, NY, November 14, 2023 – Clarion Capital Partners LLC (“Clarion”) has been recognized by PitchBook in its rankings of Top Buyout Private Equity Firms. PitchBook scored Clarion as the #2 Buyout Private Equity firm of over 1,105 firms considered. This prestigious ranking underscores Clarion’s ability to identify and execute strategic lower middle market growth buyout opportunities.

PitchBook, a renowned provider of data, research and insights spanning the global capital markets, employed a data-driven methodology to identify top-performing private capital fund strategies based on their track record as of December 31, 2022. The PitchBook Manager Performance Scores are built to go beyond the limitations of traditional benchmarking techniques, such as internal rate of return (IRR) quartiles, to provide a more robust measure of relative performance that considers the dispersion of returns and their finality, measures which a quartile ranking largely ignores. Pitchbook ranked the aggregate historical performance of each manager’s family of funds across vintage years relative to each fund family’s peer groups. Pitchbook evaluated a total of 4,520 funds managed by 1,105 GPs. To qualify for inclusion in the league tables, a family must have at least two funds that are five years or older and must have a vintage year of 2015 or later. “We are thrilled to be recognized as the #2 Buyout Private Equity Firm of the year by PitchBook,” said Marc Utay, Managing Partner. “This achievement reflects our commitment to delivering long-term outperformance for our investors and the entrepreneurs we partner with.”

Clarion has completed two platform acquisitions in 2023, bringing Clarion Fund III toward the end of its deployment, and allowing the firm to soon begin investing Clarion Fund IV.
